Test takers are advised that pre-test procedures can take time. It is recommended that your leave sufficient time (at least 2 hours) between tests if you are sitting two in one day.
Please note that the pre-test procedures do not count towards your test time and your test timer will only start once you have started the test.
Please ensure you have downloaded the ACER test app to your computer prior to your scheduled test session.
Test takers may leave the testing room to use the bathroom but the timer will not be paused for this period.

The STAT Multiple Choice test is 120 minutes. The STAT Written English test is 60 minutes.
You may use the bathroom during your test however, the test timer will not be paused, and additional time will not be provided for bathroom breaks.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition and require multiple or extended bathroom breaks during the test, it is recommended that you submit a request for reasonable adjustments for bathroom breaks. Reasonable adjustments may include additional time for breaks.
Test takers are not permitted to eat during the test unless prior approval has been granted through a request for reasonable adjustments.
If you have technical issues or something goes wrong during your test, the proctor will try to help you. If the issues are related to technology, they will transfer your session to a technical support team member. It is important to remain calm.
We understand that remote proctoring can be stressful. It is important to know that if you are having ongoing issues and become distressed that you can stop if you need to. You can reschedule your session to another day and time, to provide an opportunity to resolve the technical issues you are facing. This may include finding another computer, changing location or both. If you continue to experience technical problems during your test that cannot be resolved, please email stat@acer.org as soon as possible.
Deferrals are available for STAT Australia candidates who have booked through ACER. Deferrals can be requested up until the close of the current online test window (fees apply).
STAT booked through ACER may be cancelled and refunds requested up until the close of bookings for the current online test window (fees apply). No refunds will be given for the purchase of any STAT preparation materials or for deferral fees already paid.
Receiving a ‘Letter of Offer’ from your chosen university provider does not meet the requirements of ‘extenuating circumstances’ under the STAT Refund Policy. If you choose to cancel your STAT booking after the refund window has closed, your request will be processed as a change of mind and you will not be entitled to a refund. Please confirm the entry requirements with your provider before committing to a STAT booking.

The test app is disabled outside of the test window for security purposes. You will not be able to log into the test app before your test day. On your test day your proctor will unlock your exam after they have taken you through the start-up and security process.
Your Proctor has to unlock your test for you.
You need to ensure you are logged into ProctorU using the Guardian browser on your test day. Once you have logged in, you will see a count-down timer. When the timer reaches zero a “Start” button will appear.
Click “Start” and you be taken through the start up process and connect to a Proctor who will perform a system and security check before unlocking your exam.

The STAT is a high stakes test; the results of the test have the potential to make a major impact on the future study plans of the test taker. For this reason, ACER has established security procedures which will be strictly enforced at all times. Cheating or any breach of the test rules is viewed seriously and will attract penalties.
Any test taker found to be cheating will automatically have their STAT results cancelled and may be prohibited from registering to take the STAT again.
