Test dates

Each STAT window runs for approximately 7 days, including the weekend.

After you have paid your registration fee, you will be able to select a test session date and time with ProctorU (within the test window). Book early to get the session time that best suits you.

Registration dates

Your online registration and payment must be completed by the close of registrations.

Registrations for Australian universities will open again on 30 October and close 6 November 2024.

ProctorU test session scheduling must be made 72 hours before the close of the test window, so book as soon as possible to get a session time that suits you.

Common questions

Universities set their own admission requirements. You should contact the university directly to enquire whether STAT will assist your application and what test(s) you need to sit. Generally STAT Written English is only required for Australian universities located in VIC, NSW and WA.

ACER does not impose any restrictions on who can sit STAT.

Universities may impose their own restrictions on who they will accept STAT results from. Test takers should check with the university directly to determine if their STAT results will be accepted.

You can sit STAT once within a test window. There is no restriction on how many times you can sit STAT in a year (providing that they are different test windows). You will need to register and pay for each time you sit STAT.

Payment and refunds

The standard registration fee for STAT Multiple Choice is A$240 and STAT Written English A$225.

Refund policy

Reasonable adjustments

If you have a disability, other health-related or educational need which might interfere with your ability to sit the test in the standard manner, you should apply for reasonable adjustments as soon as possible after you complete your registration.

This includes if you require:

  • access to food
  • medication
  • medical equipment or other devices during testing time
  • rest breaks

If you are unsure, we recommend you submit an application. All requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis and all reasonable efforts will be made to provide you with support and appropriate testing conditions for your needs.
